SCIENCE
ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS:
Oleic Acid — Oleic acid is a monounsaturated, omega-9 fatty acid. It’s a common fat in the human diet. In emu oil, the oleic acid helps transport the bioactive compounds into the skin, allowing the oil to absorb quickly when applied topically.
Linolenic Acid — Linolenic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid, GLA. When applied topically, linolenic acid helps boost skin health by reducing sunspots' appearance or aging. Studies have shown that linolenic acid helps lighten ultraviolet-induced hyperpigmentation of the skin by inhibiting melanin production.
Linolenic Acid—Linolenic acid can also be an omega-3 fatty acid, ALA, which helps reduce inflammation.
Vitamins E and A both contribute to the ability to heal the skin and reduce inflammation. Vitamin E is a natural anti-aging agent that strengthens the capillary walls in the skin and helps improve moisture and elasticity. It also helps the body fight free radical damage. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant critical in maintaining healthy skin and reducing inflammation.
